According to the e-Conomy SEA 2023 report, Indonesia's e-commerce economy is expected to continue growing and reach US$110 billion by 2025. This high number is inseparable from the rapid growth of the digital economy industry, especially the promotion of e-commerce.

Bima Laga, chairman of the Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA), said in an interview that he is very optimistic about the growth of e-commerce platform transaction volume next year because this is generally in line with the trend of increased transaction volume on Indonesian e-commerce platforms.

He said that despite all possible problems, the positive trend of online shopping is believed to continue as consumers become more accustomed and comfortable using digital platforms for shopping.

The convenience, comfort, flexibility, and other factors provided by e-commerce platforms will continue to be consumers' first choice for online shopping.

"I think these consumers are going to get smarter over time. Those who initially tried online shopping are now more comfortable, and then there are new consumers, especially now that everything is digital," he said: “So whatever issues arise, the trend will continue to rise.”
