According to Indonesian media reports, the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) gave Tokopedia and TikTok a trial period of up to 4 months. This probation period is carried out under consultation and supervision of relevant ministries and agencies.

"TikTok will be operational again in Indonesia. This is Tokopedia's e-commerce cooperation with TikTok, and we will give it a trial period of 3-4 months." Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan's speech at the launch ceremony of the Buy Local campaign on December 12 Zhong said.

Zulkifli said the government will continue to evaluate and refine the development of this cooperation so that MSME players can resume their businesses.

In addition, he confirmed that TikTok did not apply for an e-commerce business license. The reason is that TikTok and GOTO have agreed on an e-commerce strategic partnership. Therefore, all forms of transactions will be done on Tokopedia and TikTok Shop is just a promotional tool.

After TikTok Shop returns to Indonesia, the 12.12 promotion is officially launched! Consumers can purchase products through the store tab, short videos and live broadcast sessions on the TikTok app.

In addition, the operating experience for sellers selling on TikTok remains unchanged from before. Products, sales and transaction records previously uploaded on TikTok Shop will also continue to be retained. Meanwhile, commissions, other fees and taxes remain unchanged.
