In the current economic situation, many Vietnamese are shopping online to save money, but 84% of online shoppers are worried about product quality.

A recent report on online shopping consumer behavior released by NielsenIQ Vietnam (NIQ) and GfK revealed that the digital economy is one of the main driving forces in Vietnam, with 60.7% of consumers shopping online every week.

The digital economy's contribution to the country's GDP will reach 10.4% in a normal scenario, 19.9% in a good scenario, and 26.2% in a breakthrough scenario.

The report shows that 64% of Vietnamese believe that the economy is in recession, 55% are worried, and frugality is the choice of many families.

In this situation, online shopping is a great solution for consumers to cut back on expenses and tighten their wallets.

Online shopping allows consumers to choose stores that offer limited-time promotions, control shopping cart costs, and seek out preferences. Additionally, since they don't have to go directly to the store, they can save on toll costs.

But still, consumers are concerned about the quality of the products they buy online.

They know they can find products at great prices in online stores and tend to compare prices across different e-commerce channels and stores to find the best products at the lowest prices.

In addition, consumers choose online shopping because e-commerce can help consumers buy anything at any time at a better price than offline shopping. In addition, consumers can choose from different payment methods and convenient delivery services.

92% of consumers choose to shop online because of the fun experience, so with the number of internet users and mobile banking increasing, DX (Digital Experience) is a top management priority.

Businesses are also advised to engage with Gen Z, 68% of whom use social networks every day.
