According to news on February 22, two months after TikTok Shop returned to the Indonesian market, Isy Karim, Director of Domestic Trade of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, said that the migration process of TikTok Shop's backend to Tokopedia has reached 75%. Only 25% of sellers or merchants have not yet migrated before the remaining commitment period, which is March 2024.

Isy said that the back-end migration of the payment process has been completely carried out on the Tokopedia system. Meanwhile, the process of migrating sellers from TikTok Shop to Tokopedia is still ongoing. "Based on the report submitted, completion is expected next month (March) based on initial targets."

It is reported that the TikTok Shop and Tokopedia integration process will allow users to shop through the TikTok Shop app and be redirected to make payments through Tokopedia. Isy said that the entire payment process is currently conducted on the Tokopedia system. Meanwhile, back-end migrations such as sellers or merchants are still in progress and have been transitioned to applications managed directly by Tokopedia.

In addition, Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Teten said that TikTok still did not comply with the "prohibition of direct transactions on social media" regulations. "The trade minister must condemn TikTok and bring it into compliance, otherwise ... the government's authority will be undermined,"

TikTok's representative in Indonesia has not yet responded. The Ministry of Trade said it was still considering how to better deal with this issue.
