Sales of Some Products on TikTok Shop Indonesia Have Exceeded Pre-Closure Levels

According to media citing data from Indonesian e-commerce market research company Compas.co.id, sales of fast-moving consumer goods and beauty products on the TikTok Shop platform have exceeded pre-closure levels.



Meanwhile, sales in the dietary supplement category have declined significantly, down 38% from before the shutdown, the report noted.



Separately, Compas.co.id said sales on other platforms increased after the TikTok Shop closed.

For example, Tokopedia's sales increased by 14.5%, Lazada by 5.1%, and Blibli by 1%. After TikTok Shop reopened, the company noticed that sales of FMCG and beauty products had exceeded pre-shutdown levels.

"The FMCG category showed significant growth, with sales increasing by 80% and sales volume increasing by 96%. This positive trend is attributed to the launch of new products, especially in the beauty category," Compas.co.id data and "In fact, product sales in the beauty category increased by 250%," said head of analytics Dilano Satria in response to the inquiry.
