TikTok Shop Malaysia Station Performed Better Than Expected

While Malaysian users remain skeptical of online shopping, TikTok Shop has exceeded expectations in the social commerce space.



"We recognize a fundamental shift in how consumers interact with brands. With more than 15 million businesses in Southeast Asia using TikTok, we want to provide a shopping experience that not only meets consumer needs, but also delivers significant results for businesses," TikTok Singapore said Kelly Umberfield, Country Head of Brand Partnerships Malaysia.



TikTok and The Boston Consulting Group's (BCG) 2022 Future of Business study revealed that 81% of TikTok users claim that video content influences their purchasing behavior.

Short-form video content on TikTok makes it easy for users to engage in brand reviews and product recommendations, such as popular hashtags like #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt, which has been viewed more than 464 million times in Malaysia and counting.



On top of that, more than 85% of consumers switch apps during the online purchase process. With TikTok Shop and Store Ads, consumers can complete a purchase without leaving the platform or clicking on a hyperlink, making TikTok Shop a convenient option.
