The Italian E-commerce Market’s Online Sales Reached 80.55 Billion Euros in 2023

Recently, market research organization Casaleggio Associati released a research report on the Italian e-commerce market. The report pointed out that the Italian e-commerce market flourished in 2023, with online sales soaring 27.14% year-on-year to 80.55 billion euros.
It is reported that, specifically, the growth of e-commerce turnover is mainly due to the active influx of e-commerce practitioners and the accelerated development of major platforms. In 2023, the number of Italian online stores increased by 17.26%, and the turnover increased by an average of 28.56%. The overall transaction volume of the market platform increased by an astonishing 55%, setting a sales record of 14.5 billion euros.
In terms of geographical distribution, northern Italy contributed the most e-commerce transaction volume, with a proportion as high as 66%, of which Lombardy accounted for the majority.
