The platform’s MY-SG Direct Programme now offers a Bulky Delivery Service, a streamlined logistics solution for cross-border shipping of large or heavy products. Here's everything Malaysian sellers need to know to take advantage of this new channel.
 


Overview of Bulky Delivery Service

Shopee's Bulky Delivery is a logistics solution for large items that integrates directly with the MY-SG Direct Programme. Here's a breakdown of what the service offers:

  • End-to-end support : Shopee handles the entire shipping process, from pickup in Malaysia to delivery in Singapore.

  • Real-time tracking : Both you (the seller) and your buyer can track the shipment status at any time.

  • Fast delivery : Items will arrive in Singapore within 11 days .

  • Coordinated logistics : A third-party delivery company (also called a 3PL) will handle both pickup and delivery.

However, not all sellers can use this service yet , only selected ones. But over time, Shopee plans to open it up to more eligible sellers.

Eligibility Criteria and Item Requirements

To qualify for Bulky Delivery, you must already be part of Shopee's MY-SG Direct Programme . Your products must meet specific size and weight limits:

  • The total of length + width + height must be 600 cm or less

  • No single side can be longer than 400 cm

  • The maximum weight allowed per parcel is 500 kg

  • Some products are not allowed , especially anything fresh, chill ed, frozen, or that can spoil easily (perishable items)

If you're selling wooden items , you may need to prepare special documentation or certification in case Singapore customs ask for it during inspection.

Only products that meet all these requirements will be marked as eligible for bulky delivery. So even if you have just a few qualifying items, you can still join the service, and it will only apply to those specific items in your shop.

Application Process and Onboarding Timeline

If you want to start using Shopee's Bulky Delivery service, you need to follow these steps:

  1. First, make sure you're enrolled in the MY-SG Direct Programme.

  2. Fill out and submit the Bulky Delivery application form .

  3. Shopee reviews all applications every Monday.

  4. If you send your form after 12PM on Monday , it will be processed the following Monday instead.

  5. Once your application is approved , the Bulky Delivery option will be activated for your store within 3 business days .

You'll receive a notification in the Shopee Seller Center to let you know whether your application was successful.

Shipping Fees and Pickup Arrangements

The delivery fee is based on whichever is heavier :

  • The actual weight (in kg) , or

  • The volumetric weight , calculated using this formula:
    (Length x Width x Height) ÷ 6,000

Don't forget to include the packaging (like boxes, bubble wrap, etc.) when measuring your item's dimensions.

After an order is placed, Shopee's delivery partner (currently STO Express) will contact you within 2 business days to arrange a pickup time . You need to ship out the item based on your Days-to-Ship (DTS) deadline:

  • Orders placed before 12PM : ship it out on the same day

  • Orders placed after 12PM : ship it out by the next business day

Pickup times:

  • Monday-Friday : 8:30 AM-6:00 PM

  • Saturday : 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM

  • No pickups on Sundays or Public Holidays
     

Delivery times:

  • Monday-Saturday : 8:00 AM-8:00 PM

  • No deliveries on Sundays or Public Holidays

If a buyer wants the item to arrive on a specific date, the delivery company (3PL) will contact them to set a suitable delivery time.

Packaging Guidelines and Special Scenarios

Proper packaging is essential, especially to qualify for compensation in case of damage or loss. You must follow Shopee's bulky item packaging guidelines carefully to protect your item during delivery.

If your item gets damaged or lost during shipping , you can get compensation up to SG$500 , based on your product cost, but only if you packed it properly according to Shopee's standards.

Sometimes one big item may need to be packed into several boxes. In that case:

  • Use the same tracking number (AWB) on all parcels

  • Clearly label each parcel with its order sequence , like: 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4

  • Make sure the labels are easy to read and attached to the correct boxes

If the delivery fails twice , the item will be returned to you (the seller). Buyers cannot cancel while the item is on the way , and "change of mind" returns are not accepted . You'll still be charged the full delivery cost , and the fee will be deducted automatically via escrow .

If the buyer wants to get rid of their old item during delivery, Shopee also offers disposal services upon new delivery for SG$10 per item, capped at SG$50 total . Buyers must pay the delivery driver directly.

Installation or assembly services (eg, for furniture) are not available yet , but Shopee plans to launch this feature in Q3 2025.
