According to foreign media reports, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines has issued rules for the Philippine e-commerce trust mark/digital badge, indicating that the products, goods or services sold online by the holder meet applicable standards and good e-commerce practices.

The DTI said that the trust mark is not a license to engage in e-commerce, and its holder must still comply with other applicable laws or regulations. The application for the trust mark is voluntary, but the DTI encourages its use to promote safer and more reliable digital trade.
The trust mark was developed by the DTI under the Internet Transactions Act. The trust mark is valid for one year from the date of issuance.
Trust mark holders will be able to enjoy various incentives, including simplified access to DTI programs and services; priority processing of related DTI licenses; consideration for future rewards or recognition; increased visibility through participation in DTI activities; and access to DTI-managed convenience or redress mechanisms.

Trust mark applications must be submitted online through the Trust Mark Registration Portal and are subject to review by the Bureau of Electronic Commerce.
