According to foreign media reports, Indonesian Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid expressed hope that the suspension of TikTok's live streaming feature in the country would not be prolonged to minimize the impact on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM).

She noted that while businesses can still conduct e-commerce activities without live streaming, the restrictions on live streaming will reduce their access to consumers and impact sales. Therefore, she hopes that TikTok will resume live streaming services as soon as the local situation improves.
Meutya emphasized, "We understand that some micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises have been affected by the suspension of live streaming sales, but we hope they can continue their e-commerce activities through other means."
Since the evening of August 30th, TikTok's live streaming feature (TikTok LIVE) has been unavailable in Indonesia. Alexander Sabal, head of Indonesia's Digital Space Regulatory Agency, confirmed that the restriction was a voluntary measure imposed by the TikTok platform.
