On October 15, 2025, the Philippine Embassy in China announced that, starting in November, Chinese citizens will be able to apply for electronic visas to the Philippines at various Philippine diplomatic missions in China. This move aims to streamline the visa process and facilitate personnel exchanges between China and the Philippines.

Under the new regulations, Chinese citizens staying in the Philippines for tourism or business purposes for up to 14 days, without the need for an extension, can apply for an electronic visa. Currently, electronic visa holders are limited to entry from Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and Mactan International Airport in Cebu.

Applicants planning to stay longer than 14 days or applying for other types of visas, such as work or study visas, can still submit traditional visa applications through the upcoming visa application centers in Beijing, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

The Philippine Embassy in China stated that it will release further details on the electronic visa, including the official application website, a list of required documents, and the detailed application process. Chinese citizens planning to travel to the Philippines are reminded to stay tuned for further updates to ensure a smooth application process.
