According to the latest data from Nielsen IQ (NIQ), the Philippines is emerging as one of the world's fastest-growing e-commerce markets, fueling the rapid growth of online consumption in Southeast Asia.
The company recently stated that the Southeast Asian FMCG e-commerce market has doubled in size over the past five years and is expected to double again within the next five years, with Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines being the main drivers of growth in the region.

Indonesia remains the core market in Southeast Asia, accounting for more than half of the region's total online FMCG sales. Southeast Asia as a whole has become the world's third-largest e-commerce market, highlighting its significant value to global manufacturers and retailers.
NIQ stated that by 2030, it expects 30% of total FMCG retail sales in Asia to come from e-commerce, as consumers increasingly prefer to integrate online and offline shopping habits. The Philippines' emergence as one of the fastest-growing markets underscores the accelerated pace of digital transformation in the country's retail sector.

NIQ stated that consumers are now researching products online before purchasing in physical stores or ordering directly online after browsing products in physical stores—a model that is rapidly reshaping the region's FMCG distribution landscape.
