According to Axios News Network, on June 17 local time, the White House announced that President Trump will extend the deadline of the TikTok ban for the third time.

White House Press Secretary Levitt said in a statement that Trump will sign a new executive order this week to extend the deadline of the TikTok ban for another 90 days. During this period, the US government will work to reach an agreement to ensure that US users can continue to use TikTok and protect their data security.

Levitt added: "As Trump has repeatedly emphasized, he does not want TikTok to disappear."

Earlier, in April 2024, then-US President Biden signed a bill passed by both houses of Congress requiring ByteDance to sell TikTok to a non-Chinese company within 270 days, otherwise the app will be banned from use in the United States after January 19, 2025.

Since Trump was re-elected as US President in January this year, he has extended the deadline for TikTok twice, for 75 days in April and June.
