Shopee Philippines issued the latest notice: According to the Administrative Order No. 25-12 of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, all businesses engaged in Internet transactions or e-commerce must obtain the "E-commerce Trustmark" issued by the E-Commerce Bureau (ECB) of the Department of Trade and Industry.
All businesses engaged in internet transactions or e-commerce are mandated by the DTI to secure the Trustmark. The deadline previously set by the DTI was September 30, but due to factors such as seller protests and official website maintenance, the deadline has been extended to December 31.
The E-Commerce Trustmark is granted to e-marketplaces, online merchants, e-retailers, digital platforms, and third-party platforms under Republic Act No. 11967 (RA 11967), the Internet Transactions Act of 2023, to certify that the products or services they sell online comply with relevant standards and good e-commerce practices.
Achieving the Trustmark demonstrates a seller's commitment to safe and responsible operations, contributing to a more secure and trustworthy digital marketplace environment.

To maintain active seller status and avoid store restrictions, sellers must submit an application to the DTI ECB through the official platform by December 31, 2025, and upload the application reference number or security number to the Shopee Seller Center or app. If the number is not displayed in the store description, the seller may face operational restrictions.
Upload required documents:
Sellers must provide their Trustmark application reference number (if pending) or Trustmark security number (if approved) in their Shop Description.
⚠️ Note
The DTI confirmation email includes the application reference number.
Once your Trustmark application has been approved, change the application reference number with the security number found under your Trustmark QR code.
The Trustmark is valid for a year from the date of issuance. Make sure your Trustmark is routinely renewed and included in your Shop Description.

Conclusion:
The Philippines E-Commerce Trustmark is more than a badge; it is a motivator. It complies with legal requirements, increases merchant trust, and provides consumers with peace of mind in a rapidly growing online economy (currently worth around USD 24 billion).
Furthermore, Filipino sellers can use BigSeller to administer their storefronts, which would increase buyer trust in the marketplace.
