Why Shopee remove your shop description?
Starting November 19, 2025, shop descriptions that contravene Shopee rules will be instantly removed. Once removed, sellers must develop a new shop description that follows Shopee's criteria. This is useful for maintaining buyers' trust, increasing the security of your data as a seller, and avoiding data misuse by irresponsible parties.
Specific reasons may include: the store description contains retargeting links, contact information, or promotional information from external websites.
Other reasons include spam, misleading information, or content that violates local regulations. These violations may result in Shopee sellers being penalized with points deductions.
How to avoid Shopee shop description from being removed?
Shopee encourages all sellers and buyers to conduct transactions and communicate only on the Shopee application/site. Sellers are restricted from posting personal information and external website details that can lead Buyers to other platforms. It mainly includes the following three points:
(1). Avoid sharing personal information
Sellers should not provide any personal or contact information that can be used by the buyers to transact and communicate offline outside Shopee.
EXAMPLES:
- Contact number (mobile #, telephone #, Whatsapp or Viber #)
- Email address
- Physical store address
- Bank account or payment remittance details
(2). Avoid any external website details
Shop Description should not contain any social media info or any non-Shopee website details. Likewise, Sellers are not allowed to ask Buyers to follow their social media account or redirect them to external websites.
EXAMPLES
- Social media username or link (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Links redirecting to other online selling platforms or external websites
(3). Avoid disclosing buyer’s personal information
Sellers are strictly not allowed to share or maliciously disclose any personal or sensitive information of buyers.
EXAMPLES
- Buyer’s Name (Full name or username)
- Buyer’s Contact number or address
- Posting buyer’s personal info as bogus buyer, scammer, joy reserver, etc.
Conclusion:
Sellers should comply with platform rules and avoid violations in their store descriptions, which could negatively impact the overall health of their stores. Furthermore, users with multiple Shopee stores can try using ERP tools like BigSeller to monitor the health of their stores uniformly.
