Lazada Joins Forces with Igloo to Launch Product Protection Plan in Philippines

It is said that Lazada and insurance technology Igloo have launched protection plans for electronic products, mobile phone screens and beauty products in the Philippines.



The partnership aims to secure online shopping and demonstrates the insurtech's commitment to increasing consumer confidence in e-commerce transactions.

"There are currently 38.9 million e-commerce shoppers in the Philippines and are expected to reach 55.8 million by 2025. Of these, approximately 25% of Filipinos shop online at least once a month," noted Roberto Vea, head of commerce at Igloo Philippines.



Vea said that as the number of Filipinos participating in online shopping continues to increase, it is increasingly important to protect consumers throughout their shopping journey and provide support even after they receive the product.

Through its partnership with Igloo, Lazada will offer three comprehensive protection products tailored for electronics and beauty products. These protection plans are seamlessly integrated into the checkout process, allowing customers to select the right coverage before completing their purchase. Transparent display of premiums ensures additional costs are clear at a glance.
