What IS Internet Transactions Act (ITA)?

The Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced that the Internet Transactions Act (ITA or or Republic Act No. 11967) of 2023 has fully come into effect after the transition period ended on June 20, marking a new phase in the country's regulation of online sellers and digital platforms.

From now on, all electronic markets, e-commerce platforms and online sellers must strictly comply with the new regulations. According to the law, all goods and services must fully disclose the price, brand name, details, condition and seller contact information.

Platforms are also required to establish an accessible and fair consumer complaint handling mechanism, provide secure payment methods, and implement high standards of data protection measures. If the platform fails to deal with illegal goods or services information in a timely manner, it may be jointly liable with the seller. 👉 Click Here to Register BigSeller For Free!👈
