Starting 16 July 2025, Shopee is introducing special fee adjustments for sellers of Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) textbooks and activity books listed in the official E-Katalog Buku Teks.
This initiative reduces costs for sellers by offering:
-
RM0.50 Platform Support Fee Waiver per eligible order.
-
Fixed 3% Commission Fee Rebate on eligible KPM books.
Both adjustments will be charged upfront at order time and later reimbursed to your Seller Wallet in the third week of each month.
What’s Changing?
1. Platform Support Fee Waiver
Previously, every order on Shopee came with a RM0.50 platform support fee charged to sellers. Starting 16 July 2025, this fee will be waived for orders that include at least one KPM-listed textbook or activity book.
Since the platform support fee is subject to SST (8%), the actual amount reimbursed to your Seller Wallet will be RM0.54 per eligible order.
2. Commission Fee Adjustment
In addition to the fee waiver, Shopee is also lowering the commission rate for KPM textbooks and activity books. A flat 3% rebate will be applied to all sales of eligible KPM books.
Here’s how it works:
-
At checkout, Shopee still charges the standard commission fee.
-
Afterward, the system calculates the 3% rebate on the eligible book sales and reimburses the difference back to your Seller Wallet.
Orders with Mixed Items
If a single order includes both MOE textbooks and non-MOE books (or other items), the rebate will only apply to the MOE portion of the sale.
Example:
-
Order contains 1 MOE textbook (RM50) + 2 non-MOE books (RM100)
-
Commission rebate applies only to the RM50 MOE book.
-
The RM100 non-MOE books are charged at the normal rate.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the commission rebate and platform support fee waiver, your products must meet all three requirements below. Missing even one could make your listing ineligible.
1. Listed in the KPM Catalogue
Only textbooks and activity books that are officially part of the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) E-Katalog Buku Teks are eligible.
2. Correct Product Category
Your listing must be placed under the following category path:
Books & Magazines > Books > Education & School
3. Valid ISBN (International Standard Book Number)
Every eligible book must have its ISBN entered correctly in the dedicated ISBN input field under Product Information.
Important rules for ISBN input:
-
Must be entered in the ISBN field only (not in the product title or description).
-
Must contain numbers only (no dashes, letters, or symbols).
-
Must be either 10 digits or 13 digits, following international ISBN standards.
-
If your product has multiple variations (e.g., different editions or activity levels), you may input one valid ISBN from the listed variations.
Important Note: If a book is miscategorised or has an incorrect ISBN, Shopee may still charge you the standard platform fees and claw back any reimbursements already credited to your Seller Wallet.
