Pawmised Land: Building a Data Foundation with BigSeller and Using AI to Guide Business Decisions

BigSeller unifies core operations and provides usable business data; Pawmised Land extends that foundation through its own AI analysis workflow.

In the pet food and supplies industry, faster sales often make inventory decisions more difficult. Consumables such as cat food, treats, and cat litter require continuous replenishment. Cat litter is especially demanding: it is heavy, fast-moving, vulnerable to stockouts, and costly to overstock.

The challenge grows when a brand operates both ecommerce marketplaces and its own website. The same SKU may appear across multiple channels, while bundles, free gifts, and product variants draw from the same underlying stock. Orders keep rising at the front end, but spreadsheets and manual updates struggle to reconstruct the real inventory position at the back end.

This was the operating bottleneck facing Pawmised Land, a homegrown Malaysian cat health brand.

From Cat Health Needs to a Growing Regional Brand

BRAND SNAPSHOT: MALAYSIAN CAT HEALTH BRAND | FOUNDED IN 2021 | MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE

Pawmised Land is a Malaysian cat health brand under Domai Sdn Bhd. It was founded by Wilson Lau in 2021.

Its name evokes a promised land for cats. Pawmised Land wants cats to live the life they deserve: eating well, living comfortably, and receiving proper care.

For Wilson, helping more cats live this way requires products to do three things at once: work well, remain affordable, and deliver genuine benefits for cats.

That is why Pawmised Land starts with the everyday problems cat parents feel most strongly. Cat litter sticking to the tray and inadequate odor control are tangible product pain points. The high upfront cost of large packs affects affordability. Problems like these can become the starting point for product development.

From functional treats and Frosty Pearl cat litter to the Creme wellness line, Pawmised Land has continued to expand its portfolio, channels, markets, and customer use cases.

For a fast-growing brand, however, the real challenge was not simply how to sell more. It was how to keep backend operations aligned with frontend growth.

Balancing Faster Sales with Stable Operations

CORE CHALLENGES: MULTICHANNEL INVENTORY ALIGNMENT | BUNDLE SKU DEDUCTIONS | MULTI-WAREHOUSE FULFILLMENT | REPLENISHMENT FOR HEAVY GOODS

"Our biggest problem was not that we did not know how to sell. The faster we sold, the messier the backend became."

The same SKU could appear on the Shopify website, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. In the early days, the team manually allocated inventory across channels in Excel. During major campaigns or sudden order spikes, inventory changes across platforms could not be reflected quickly enough, making it harder to maintain one accurate, shared inventory record.

Pawmised Land also uses a large number of bundles and free gifts. A single customer order may appear to contain one sellable item, while actually consuming several individual products, variants, or promotional items behind the scenes.

When bundle SKUs, individual SKUs, and gifts are sold across multiple channels, Excel struggles to keep the true sellable quantity of every SKU accurate.

Pawmised Land operates separate fulfillment flows for marketplace orders, direct-to-consumer orders, and the Singapore market.

The team needed to know not only whether stock existed, but where it was located and which warehouse should fulfill each order. For bundles, it also needed to confirm that every component was available.

At the time, reorder points were set and reviewed through a manual process.

Management reporting was also manual. The team prepared reports twice a week, but by the time each report was ready, the data was already dated. Managers could explain what had happened, but they had limited visibility into inventory risk over the coming weeks.

Managing Complex Operations While Keeping Data Accessible with BigSeller

SELECTION CRITERIA: SOUTHEAST ASIAN MARKETPLACE INTEGRATIONS | BUNDLE SKUS | MULTI-WAREHOUSE INVENTORY | COMPLETE DATA EXPORTS

Pawmised Land first heard about BigSeller through local Shopee and Lazada seller communities and Facebook seller groups in Malaysia, then opened an account to test it independently.

Wilson's selection criteria were highly practical.

First, BigSeller connects with the major ecommerce platforms used in Southeast Asia, so the team did not need a separate operating method for every channel. Second, the system was accessible to learn and its cost remained manageable.

More importantly, BigSeller could manage the relationship between bundle SKUs, multiple warehouses, and orders from different platforms.

Another factor proved especially important to Wilson: the data could be exported in full.

Rather than being limited to fixed report formats, Pawmised Land wanted access to detailed order, product, sales, and inventory data so it could build analysis around its own business.

For Wilson, this meant the brand could continue feeding operational data into its own analysis workflow instead of being locked into one reporting structure.

Precise Inventory Alignment Across Platforms and Warehouses

SYSTEM CAPABILITIES: MULTICHANNEL ORDER SYNC | AUTOMATIC BUNDLE COMPONENT DEDUCTION | MULTI-WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT | SCAN VERIFICATION

After BigSeller was implemented, orders from Shopify, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop entered a more unified workflow. The team could review and process orders centrally, handle shipping tasks in batches, and coordinate fulfillment with the appropriate warehouse for each channel and market.

When a customer purchases an individual product, the system deducts the corresponding inventory. When a customer buys a bundle, BigSeller deducts the inventory of each component based on the bundle relationship.

This solved one of the hardest problems to keep accurate in Excel. After a bundle is sold, the system does not merely record one bundle sale; it also reflects the inventory movement of the individual items behind it.

With fulfillment split across separate facilities, multi-warehouse management made stock ownership and fulfillment responsibilities clearer.

Warehouse staff use scan verification during outbound processing to confirm that the items picked match the order. This further reduces incorrect shipments, missing items, and incomplete bundle components.

As orders, bundle SKUs, warehouses, and outbound workflows became connected, BigSeller became Pawmised Land's single source of truth for inventory status.

The most visible result was that channel stock is now kept aligned across platforms, while the customer service workload associated with inventory exceptions has fallen significantly.

For Pawmised Land, however, unified inventory was only the first step.

BigSeller Data Powers a Tailored Business Analysis Framework

DATA WORKFLOW: PROFIT AND SALES REPORT EXPORTS | PURCHASE-SALES-INVENTORY ANALYSIS | SELF-BUILT AI DEMAND FORECASTING | STOCKOUT RISK REVIEW

BigSeller's value to Pawmised Land goes beyond bringing multichannel orders, bundle SKUs, and separate fulfillment facilities into one workflow. It also allows the resulting business data to be exported and used beyond the system.

Each week, the team exports data from reports such as the Profit Report, Sales Report, Purchase-Sales-Inventory Report, and Merchant SKU Sales Report. Order volume, units sold, revenue, SKU cost, and inventory movements can then enter the brand's own AI analysis workflow.

This AI layer does not replace BigSeller's existing inventory and replenishment capabilities. It uses the accurate, reliable data supplied by BigSeller and adds Pawmised Land's own category knowledge, operating rules, and analytical perspective.

That extension is especially valuable in pet food and supplies. Cat litter is heavy and fast-moving, so decisions must balance inventory availability, storage capacity, and replenishment timing. Treats, wellness products, and bundle SKUs have different sales rhythms and cost structures. A standard report alone cannot fully express every difference between these categories.

Using data exported from BigSeller, Pawmised Land can tailor analysis in three areas:

  • Cross-report integration: combine units sold, revenue, product cost, inventory movement, and warehouse distribution to reduce repeated reconciliation across separate reports.
  • Category-specific logic: set rules that reflect the different operating characteristics of cat litter, treats, wellness products, and bundle SKUs.
  • Scenario analysis: compare inventory outcomes under normal sales, promotional peaks, replenishment lead times, and different purchase quantities.

For cat litter, for example, the team can bring historical unit sales, revenue, product cost, and inventory movement into the same analysis, then set separate assumptions for everyday sales and major campaigns. Supplier, transport, and inbound lead times can be considered alongside the impact of different purchase quantities on stock coverage and storage capacity.

The resulting analysis is closer to the questions Pawmised Land actually needs to answer:

  • How different will inventory pressure be under normal sales and major-campaign scenarios?
  • Which high-volume products require closer attention to cost and replenishment risk?
  • How will different purchase quantities affect stock availability and storage capacity?
  • Which findings should management prioritize first?

Previously, this information was scattered across separate reports and reviewed manually. Now, with business data supplied continuously by BigSeller, Pawmised Land can produce a weekly analysis organized around its own operating logic, helping management compare scenarios more quickly.

BigSeller does not provide a fixed AI answer here. It provides a reusable data foundation. Brands can combine standardized business data with their own industry, categories, and management approach to build more targeted analytical capabilities.

Stronger Operational Control Across a Complex Operation

RESULTS: SEVERAL HUNDRED SKUS | SEPARATE FULFILLMENT FACILITIES | CHANNEL STOCK ALIGNED | INVENTORY REVIEW COMPLETED WITHIN 30 MINUTES

The change Wilson feels most clearly is the team's increased ability to control a complex operation.

Pawmised Land now manages a catalogue of several hundred individual and bundle SKUs, including variants and free gifts. Its business spans Malaysia and Singapore, with fulfillment split across separate facilities.

At this scale, continuing to rely entirely on manual work, Excel, and separate platform backends would make accurate inventory difficult to sustain.

With BigSeller and a weekly data-analysis workflow in place, the team can manage products, channels, and warehouses within a much clearer operating system.

Business area Before Now
Multichannel inventory Inventory was allocated manually across channels. BigSeller inventory serves as the single source of truth.
Bundle SKUs Excel could not consistently track consumption across multiple components. Component inventory is deducted automatically according to bundle relationships.
Warehouse management The relationship among channels, regions, and inventory was complex. Each facility handles a clearly defined fulfillment scope.
Inventory exceptions and customer service Inventory exceptions were handled manually by customer service. Channel stock is kept aligned, reducing the related customer service workload.
Inventory review The team needed an entire afternoon. The same review can be completed within 30 minutes.
Management reports The data was already outdated by the time reports were ready. Data is exported weekly and enters an automated analysis workflow.
Replenishment decisions Reorder points were set and reviewed manually. Decisions consider sales velocity, promotional peaks, and replenishment lead times.
Operating mode The team reviewed inventory issues after they surfaced. The team identifies stockout risk earlier and plans replenishment in advance.

A complete inventory and sales review once took the team an entire afternoon. Today, the same work can be completed within 30 minutes. The analysis is also more granular and can support future demand forecasting.

Faster Analysis, More Focus on Product Development

BRAND VALUE: FASTER ANALYSIS | MORE TIME FOR PRODUCTS, CONTENT, AND CAT HEALTH NEEDS

For Pawmised Land, systems and data are an essential part of how the brand grows.

Because the team spends less time reconciling inventory exceptions and delayed reports, it can redirect more energy to product development, content, and a deeper understanding of what cats genuinely need.

From functional treats and cat litter to wellness products, Pawmised Land has never wanted simply to sell more products. The brand wants more cats to eat better, live more comfortably, and receive the care they deserve.

BigSeller first helps the brand put accurate, detailed operating data into its own hands. Building on that foundation, Pawmised Land uses its AI analysis workflow to turn data into replenishment judgment and demand forecasts.

As Wilson summarizes the change:

"BigSeller puts clean data in my hands. Only then can AI deliver more accurate analysis and demand forecasts, helping us run a more disciplined operation that can anticipate what comes next."

Inventory management is no longer only about recording the past; it is also beginning to help the team judge what may happen next. With a more stable operating foundation, Pawmised Land can continue fulfilling the promise behind its name: a promised land for cats.
